Working with Hydra
Everything happens in one chat panel, inside frappe desk.
Open it
Click the ✦ button on any frappe desk page, or press ⌘⌥H. It opens as a side panel — hit Full screen (⌘⌥F) when you want room to read.
Ask in plain English
Type what you want in the Ask anything box. Be specific — "email the warehouse team when an item runs low" beats "help with stock". Need to hand it a spreadsheet, PDF, or screenshot? Attach a file and Hydra reads it.
Pick how it works — three modes
Switch with the mode button, or press ⌘⌥M:

| Mode | What it does | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Ask | Answers questions and looks things up. Changes nothing. | You just want information — totally safe to explore. |
| Plan | Plans first, builds after you approve. (Default.) | You want something built and want to see the plan first. |
| Fast | Builds straight away, no plan step. | You trust it and want speed. |
Review before it builds
In Plan mode, Hydra shows an Implementation Plan — exactly what it will create, step by step. From there you can:

- Modify plan — type a change and it redrafts.
- Download Plan — keep a copy.
- Proceed — give it the go-ahead.
Then it builds, step by step, while you watch progress live. When it's done you get a Changes Made summary with links straight to everything it created. If a step needs another pass, it tells you — no silent failures.
Keep your chats
Every conversation is saved. Open Past chats to search and reopen them, or start a New chat (⌘⌥N). Give any answer a 👍/👎, Regenerate one you didn't like, or hit Feedback to send a bug, idea, or comment.
Credits & usage
Hydra runs on credits. Roughly, from real usage:
| What you do | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Ask a question | ~2 credits |
| Generate a script (Fast) | ~5 credits |
| A full plan + build | ~15 credits |
A quick question is cheap; a full build runs through many steps, so it costs a bit more. You can see your remaining credits in the panel, and Hydra pauses at your limit — no overage, no surprise bills. (The Starter plan includes 250 credits a month — roughly 15+ builds or 100+ questions.)
